Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF)

The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) is an accredited and Ofqual regulated qualification for Teaching Assistants, or other school staff who directly support teaching and learning. Having this qualification increases your profile and job prospects, and many centres or schools may even request that you have this qualification before starting a teaching assistant position with them.

By taking this online teaching assistant level 3 course, you will gain the knowledge and understanding needed to work directly with children or young people in supporting their assessment for learning, developing relationships, promoting equality and diversity, and understanding how to safeguard their wellbeing.

Duration and Delivery

This teaching assistant training course is designed to be completed online at the pace that suits you. It can take as little as three weeks, or up to 6 months, depending on your previous experience and your dedication to the course. The qualification is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle, on a self-study basis with 24x7 tutor support.

Assessment & Verification

All units within this teaching assistant qualification are internally analysed by our internal assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. The assessment takes the form of written assignments, and some practical elements (which can be done virtually), detailed guidance for which will be provided by the tutor once you're enrolled.

This course is for those working within a school/training environment supporting the education of young people or children, who want to gain a qualification to expand their skill set, employability and earning potential.

Learners should meet the following requirements:

• Be aged 16+
• Have a placement at a school or other appropriate educational institution to meet the practical requirements for this course

Successful completion of this TA qualification enables learners to progress onto the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF), the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, or even straight into the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
